Prayer for Humility
Topic: Humility Prayer for Humility Incline us O God! to think humbly of ourselves, to be saved only in the examination of our own conduct, to consider our fellow-creatures with kindness, and to judge of all they say and do with the charity which we would desire from them ourselves. - Jane Austen Appropriate for many faiths

To Have Strong Families
Topic: Family To Have Strong Families Father, I pray for (name one or more) and others in my circle of family and friends to have Christ-centered families... Help them train their children in the way they should live, and give the children hearts to honor and obey their moms and dads. May the fathers not exasperate their children but bring them up to understand how You want them to live. (1 Corinthians 11:3; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1,4) May every husband love his wife as he loves himself, as Christ loved and was willing to give Himself up for the church. Help husbands not be harsh with their wives but be considerate, treating them with respect so their prayers won’t be hindered. (Ephesians 5:33a, 25; Colossians 3:19; 1 Peter 3:7) May each wife respect her husband and submit to him as to the Lord, as the church submits to Christ. As all of us are to do, may they submit to one another out of reverence for Christ, each looking to the interests of the other. (Ephesians 5:33b, 22, 21; Philippians 2:4) Keep their families strong and together; help them to be givers and not takers. In Jesus' name, Amen. - Jim & Kaye Johns

Prayer for Those in Authority
Topic: Guidance Prayer for Those in Authority I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, Who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. - I Timothy 2:1-4, 28 Christian

Help Us to Remember
Topic: Mercy Heavenly Father, help us remember that the jerk who cut us off in traffic last night is a single mother who worked nine hours that day and is rushing home to cook dinner, help with homework, do the laundry and spend a few precious moments with her children. disinterested young man who can't make change correctly is a worried 19-year-old college student, balancing his apprehension over final exams with his fear of not getting his student loans for next semester. money in the same spot every day (who really ought to get a job!) is a slave to addictions that we can only imagine in our worst nightmares slow through the store aisles and blocking our shopping progress are savoring this moment, knowing that, based on the biopsy report she got back last week, this will be the last year that they go shopping together you give us, the greatest gift is love. It is not enough to share that love with those we hold dear. Open our hearts not to just those who are close to us, but to all humanity. Let us be slow to judge and quick to forgive, show patience, empathy and love.

Prayer for Friendship
Topic: Friendship Prayer for Friendship You have blessed us, O God, with the gift of friendship, the bonding of persons in a circle of love. We thank you for such a blessing: for friends who love us, who share our sorrows, who laugh with us in celebration, who bear our pain, who need us as we need them, who weep as we weep, who hold us when words fail, and who give us the freedom to be ourselves. Bless our friends with health, wholeness, life, and love. Amen. - Vienna Cobb Anderson Appropriate for many faiths

Grace After Meals
Topic: Mealtime Grace After Meals (Bendigamos) Let us bless the Most High The Lord who raised us, Let us give him thanks For the good things which he has given us. Praised be his Holy Name, Because he always took pity on us. Praise the Lord, for he is good, For his mercy is everlasting. Let us bless the Most High First for his Law, Which binds our race With heaven continually. Praised be his Holy Name, Because he always took pity on us. Praise the Lord, for he is good, For his mercy is everlasting. Let us bless the Most High, Secondly for the bread And also for the foods Which we have eaten together. For we have eaten and drunk happily His mercy has never failed us. Praise the Lord, for he is good, For his mercy is everlasting. Blessed be this house, The home of his presence, Where we keep his feast, With happiness and permanence. Praised be his Holy Name, Because he always took pity on us. Praise the Lord, for he is good, For his mercy is everlasting. Jewish source: Submitted by Beliefnet member shemaryahu

Topic: Children Prayer for Young People O God, we pray and beseech you to guide and protect young people from the dangers that are ever present in our world today. Be with them, as they experience both sickness and health, sorrow and joy, loneliness and friendship, success and failure. Gracious God, give to them the courage and strength to make the right decisions as they journey through life. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, may they come to know and experience your loving care. We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord. Amen. Christian, Catholic
