Prayer for Someone Who Is Ill
Topic: Health/Healing

For Someone Who Is Ill

Almighty God our heavenly Father, graciously comfort your servant _______ in his suffering, and bless the means made use of for his cure. Fill his heart with confidence that, though at times he may be afraid, he yet may put his trust in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Those With Alzheimer's

My prayer is for all who bear the crosses of Alzheimer's and other dementias. Society values the intellect so much that it forgets to value the whole person. May God bring strength and joy into the lives of people who suffer from these devastating diseases.

Prayer of Jabez

The Prayer of Jabez

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!" So God granted him what he requested.

Giving Thanks to HaShem
Topic: Gratitude/Thanks
Giving Thanks to HaShem

Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter into them, I will give thanks unto HaShem.
This is the gate of HaShem; the righteous shall enter into it.
I will give thanks unto Thee, for Thou hast answered me, and art become my salvation.
The stone which the builders rejected is become the chief corner-stone.
This is HaShem'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.
This is the day which HaShem hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
We beseech Thee, O HaShem, save now! We beseech Thee, O HaShem, make us now to prosper!
Blessed be he that cometh in the name of HaShem; we bless you out of the house of HaShem.
HaShem is God, and hath given us light; order the festival procession with boughs, even unto the horns of the altar.
Thou art my God, and I will give thanks unto Thee; Thou art my God, I will exalt Thee.
O give thanks unto HaShem, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.

Prayer for a Summer Day

Long warm days...
The pace of life slows...
A time for picnics and rest in the shade...

Lord, help me to rest a while in the cooling shade of your presence. Slow down my restless heart and fill me with gentle compassion for all your people. Amen.

Hannah's Prayer
Topic: Praise
Hannah also prayed and said,
"My heart exults in the LORD; my strength is exalted in the LORD. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in thy salvation.

"There is none holy like the LORD, there is none besides thee; there is no rock like our God. Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble gird on strength. Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn. The LORD kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up. The LORD makes poor and makes rich; he brings low, he also exalts. He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and on them he has set the world.

"He will guard the feet of his faithful ones; but the wicked shall be cut off in darkness; for not by might shall a man prevail. The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken to pieces; against them he will thunder in heaven. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth; he will give strength to his king, and exalt the power of his anointed."

Graduation Prayer

Father,
I have knowledge, so will You show me now,
How to use it wisely and find a way somehow
To make the world I live in a little better place,
And make life with its problems a little bit easier to face.

Grant me faith and courage and put purpose in my days,
And show me how to serve Thee in effective ways.

So my education, my knowledge and my skill
May find their true fulfillment as I learn to do Thy will.

And may I ever be aware in everything I do,
That knowledge comes from learning, and wisdom comes from You.
Amen.

Praise God

Praise God

Hallelujah. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power.

Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to His abundant greatness.

Praise Him with the blast of the horn; praise Him with the psaltery and harp.

Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and the pipe.

Praise Him with the loud-sounding cymbals; praise Him with the clanging cymbals.

Let every thing that hath breath praise HaShem. Hallelujah.

Keep My Mind Focused on Good Health

O Lord, I find it hard to remember what it was like
to be healthy.
Help me keep my mind focused on good health
and strength.
Let me be positive about the course of treatment
I am undergoing.
And let me always have faith, great faith,
in your presence in my life
and your glory in my health.
